Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

In these terms and conditions:

  • "We" / "us" / "our" means Boiler Service Bristol Ltd
  • "You" / "your" means the customer requesting our services
  • "Services" means boiler servicing, repair, installation, gas safety inspections, and related heating work

2. Booking and appointments

Appointments can be booked by telephone, WhatsApp, or email. We will confirm your booking with a date, time, and estimated duration.

We aim to arrive within the agreed time window. If we are delayed by more than 30 minutes, we will contact you to reschedule or offer an alternative.

You may cancel or reschedule an appointment up to 24 hours before the scheduled time without charge. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a £45 cancellation fee.

3. Quotations and pricing

All prices quoted include VAT at the prevailing rate. We will provide a written quote before any work begins. The quote is valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.

Additional work discovered during the service (e.g., hidden leaks, corroded components) will be discussed with you before proceeding. We will not carry out additional work without your approval.

Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed. We accept bank transfer, card payments, and cash.

4. Our obligations

We will:

  • Carry out all work in accordance with Gas Safe regulations and manufacturer guidelines
  • Use qualified, Gas Safe registered engineers for all gas work
  • Provide written certificates and service records where applicable
  • Respect your property and leave the work area clean and tidy
  • Carry public liability insurance of at least £2 million

5. Your obligations

You agree to:

  • Provide safe access to the boiler and relevant areas of your property
  • Disclose any known hazards or previous work on the system
  • Ensure pets and children are kept away from the work area
  • Pay the agreed price on completion of the work

6. Warranties and guarantees

Our work is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion, covering defects in workmanship. This guarantee does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorised modifications
  • Parts that fail due to manufacturer defects (these are covered by the manufacturer's warranty)
  • Issues arising from pre-existing conditions not disclosed at the time of work

Manufacturer warranties on new boilers and parts are separate from our workmanship guarantee and are subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions.

7. Liability

Our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided. We are not liable for:

  • Consequential loss or damage (e.g., loss of earnings, accommodation costs)
  • Damage caused by your failure to disclose relevant information
  • Issues arising from work carried out by third parties

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

8. Gas Safe regulations

All gas work must comply with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. If our engineer identifies a dangerous appliance or installation, we are legally required to disconnect it and notify you in writing. You must not use the appliance until the danger has been rectified.

9. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with our service, please contact us within 14 days of the work being completed. We will investigate and respond within 7 working days. If we cannot resolve the issue, you may refer it to the Gas Safe Register or the relevant trade association.

10. Governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
